While Jennifer Riley Collins was fighting for our country, Lynn Fitch was using taxpayer dollars to redecorate her office
With just under six weeks before Mississippi voters go to the polls and choose their next Attorney General, it is critical for voters to understand the difference between Democrat Jennifer Riley Collins and Republican Lynn Fitch — and why Jennifer Riley Collins is the better choice to serve in the Mississippi OAG.
In November, Mississippi voters will decide between Jennifer Riley Collins, a decorated Army Colonel and civil rights attorney who has spent her career fighting for our freedoms, and Lynn Fitch, a career politician who has spent her time advancing her own career.
1.Self-Interested v. Public Servant
During her tenure as State Treasurer, Lynn Fitch used the office to look out for herself. Fitch used tens of thousands of hard-earned taxpayer dollars to decorate her office including more than $6,000 for credenzas. Fitch even used Mississippi taxpayer dollars to touch-up photos of herself. This all happened as the state of Mississippi’s economic outlook went from “stable” to “negative” causing the credit rating for the state to be downgrade.
Meanwhile, Colonel Jennifer Riley Collins was serving our country, including a tour of duty in Kuwait and fighting to protect American values and freedoms. After serving in the Army, Jennifer continued to serve the public as a leading civil rights attorney who fiercely defended the rights of ALL Mississippians.
Mississippians deserve an Attorney General that will put their interests above their own. Voters should know that while Jennifer Riley Collins was fighting for this country, Lynn Fitch was redecorating her personal office at taxpayer expense.
2.Career Politician v. Army Veteran
State Treasurer Lynn Fitch is a career politician who has spent most of her time in office focused on helping Lynn Fitch and her close friends, not the people of Mississippi. During her long career in office, Fitch has taken tens of thousands of dollars from special interest groups and banks that have taken advantage of Main Street consumers and Mississippi families.
Meanwhile, Colonel Jennifer Riley Collins served more than 30 years in the United States Army, protecting our nation’s freedom from foreign enemies. Now, she feels the call to serve again, this time to protect the people of her home state. Jennifer Riley Collins will fight tirelessly to protect Mississippi families and keep corporations accountable for their actions, including drug corporations that price gouge our families to make more money.
Voters simply cannot trust Lynn Fitch to protect Mississippi voters and hold special interests and politicians accountable when she’s in the pocket of the very companies exploiting the state and people of Mississippi.
3.No Care v. Health Care
Lynn Fitch is running on the Republican Party’s platform of eliminating protections of pre-existing conditions and making sure Medicaid is not expanded to Mississippians that need it most.
Meanwhile, Colonel Jennifer Riley Collins has pledged that as Attorney General she would do everything she could to protect life saving health care for Mississippians with pre-existing conditions.
Mississippi voters should know that health care is far too important to just pander to the party line. While Jennifer Riley Collins is ready to protect life-saving care, Lynn Fitch is running to appease party politics and eliminate health care.
TLDR: Mississippi deserves a fighter for the people in the Attorney General’s office, not a career politician interested in advancing themselves like Lynn Fitch.
As a veteran of the United States Army and a lawyer who has fought to protect the rights of all Mississippians, Colonel Jennifer Riley Collins is the right choice for Attorney General this November.
